Archer 12

The UN have declared the dense forests of the Scottish Ceasefire Zone to be a no-go area due to the large number of Soviet AGMs still stationed there. With the collapse of the Soviet armed forces, apparently the stand-down commands where lost. Currently what the locals call the Nutcrackers, or Shchelkunchiks seem to be stuck in a stand-your-ground routine, and will attempt to repel any personnel on sight.

Official clearance operations have yet to be enacted, however; the sheer financial scale of the post-war cleanup operations have pushed incidents like this, without any immediate threat to population centres or infrastructure, to the bottom of the priority list. Seemingly as a consequence of this, the once-ravaged highlands have been allowed to grow wild. Satellite and long range photography scans have spotted the return of once critically endangered wildlife to the area.
